Maupiti

Located 40km west of Bora-Bora, Maupiti is one of the last remaining high islands in the Society archipelago. This small island of 11km?, isolated and still very authentic, has only 1 200 inhabitants. A short hike of 2h30 allows you to reach an exceptional panorama, offering a 360? view on the whole island (beware of people prone to vertigo!). On the sea side, the cleaning station populated with manta rays offers a magnificent spectacle. The airport is located on a motu just in front of the main island and transfers are organized by the guesthouses and by a permanent shuttle. As far as accommodation is concerned, there are no hotels on the island! So you ll have to choose from one of the 17 guesthouses that are there.
