Society Archipelago
The Society Islands are located in the Pacific Ocean south of the equator. Papeete, the administrative capital, is about 4000km east of Auckland, New Zealand. The Society Archipelago is the most populated of the five island groups that make up French Polynesia. It is divided into two groups: the Windward Islands and the Leeward Islands. French and Tahitian (reo Tahiti) are spoken there.
