French Polynesia

French Polynesia is an overseas community of the French Republic consisting of 5 archipelagos comprising 118 islands including 76 inhabited: the archipelago of the Society with the Wind Islands and the Leeward Islands, the Tuamotu archipelago, the Gambier Islands, the Austral Islands and the Marquesas Islands. It is located in the southern Pacific Ocean, about 6,000 kilometres east of Australia. It also includes the vast adjacent sea spaces. French Polynesia is a non-autonomous territory under Article 73 of the Charter of the United Nations.
